Colour is fundamental to design yet is completely dependent on the individual viewing it.
— Coral Fowley

Coral Fowley is a Textile Artist, now based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She finds inspiration from the natural sciences, in particular the role light has within the production and interpretation of colour. Coral questions the connections between the perception of colour and the application of colour in design, through practice-led research. Her academic, explorative and multi-layered approach to print combines computer aided design, illustration and surface manipulation to interpret and develop this research.

Coral is currently Artist in Residence at the School of Craft and Design, University for the Creative Arts in Farnham and a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen (licentiate membership).

Coral is also a proud member of The Colour Group (UK) and the Society of Dyers and Colourists.
